Some Dreams are Worth Waiting and Working For

Me and My Writing.

Hello, and Welcome to my Blog! (Feeling a little nervous to be honest, dipping my toe into the world of blogging.)
Well, a little about me - I have been writing since I was a child. I’ve always loved stories and poems, the other worlds they could take you to, and sometimes they helped you understand the world you were in, the emotions you were feeling, and unravel those of others too. People fascinate me, how we  interact, how we love, how we hurt and the whole range of emotions.
I have dreamt of having a novel published since I was 17 years old. Of course, I had to get around to writing a novel first, and as it does, life somehow got in the way – a job in a bank, husband,  two children, 4 cats, a dog, a horse, and 4 house moves later, I have finally managed to knuckle down and have completed not just one but two contemporary women’s fiction novels. I’m also in the middle of editing the third, which is a Romantic Comedy.
I’ve had  a few close calls with submissions to both agents and publishers in the past two years, and am hoping I’m inching my way towards the finish line. It hasn’t been easy, admittedly, the submissions process has been a lot harder and surprisingly more heart-wrenching than I ever imagined, but I absolutely love writing - getting into the heads of the characters, creating that other world, and I’ve tried to take on board any advice given, and re-write to make the novels the best I can. It’s been a steep learning curve and a bit of a rollercoaster! I’ll keep you posted…
Have you any long-term dreams you’re striving for? I’d love to hear from you.
Keep working, keep dreaming…
